I paid 100 rupees for a double room with fan
This must be the cleanest guesthouse in Varanasi, possibly all of India. The shared bathrooms and the floors of the communal areas are mopped with dettol twice a day. This alone makes staying here a very pleasant change. Add to that the low price, friendly family-run atmosphere, delicious scrambled eggs for breakfast, location right in the old city, and you have a great combination. My only negative comment was that the mattresses in our room were incredibly hard.
Highly recommended.
Note: there are also guesthouses named "Old Yogi Lodge" and "New Yogi Lodge". And guess what - tuktuks and taxis will try and take you to those ones instead. Be firm :) |
